MALMO, SWEDEN — AAK plans to invest about 400 million Swedish kronas ($61.7 million) over two years in the construction of a specialty and semi-specialty edible oils factory in São Paulo, Brazil. The new factory is expected to start operating in the latter part of 2014.

“The new factory will expand our product portfolio of food ingredients and chocolate and confectionery products in Brazil and particularly strengthen our ability of supplying bakery and dairy solutions as well as further develop our chocolate and confectionery business,” said Edmond Borit, managing director for AAK South America. “This new factory will also include an innovation center, which will give our customers the possibility to work closely with AAK’s customer innovation team when developing new products and solutions.”
