WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken during July was 220,186,000 lbs, down 5% from June and down 3% from July 2011, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.

July production of edible liquid whole eggs was 135,594,000 lbs, down 2% from June and down slightly from 135,872,000 lbs in July 2011; liquid whites were 56,114,000 lbs, down 10% from June and down 7% from July 2011; liquid yolks were 28,478,000 lbs, down 10% from June and down 6% from July 2011.

Shell eggs broken in July were 172,446,000 dozen, down 3% from June and down 4% from July 2011.
January–July production of edible whole eggs was 938,959,000 lbs, down 1% from the same period of the previous year; whites were 416,512,000 lbs, up 1%; yolks were 213,118,000 lbs, up 1%; and total edible liquid was 1,568,589,000 lbs, up slightly from 1,568,018,000 lbs during the same period of the previous year.
