WASHINGTON — Wheat inspected for export during the week ended Nov. 1 totaled 13,997,000 bus, up 44% from a week earlier, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its weekly Grains Inspected and/or Weighed for Export report.

The weekly total was within the range of trade expectations from 10,000,000 to 16,000,000 bus.

Wheat inspected for the marketing year to date, which began June 1, 2012, totaled 416,813,000 bus, down 12% from 475,944,000 bus inspected during the same period in 2011-12.

Wheat inspected for shipment from the Great Lakes was 1,481,000 bus, including 766,000 bus for Italy, 403,000 bus for the United Kingdom and 312,000 bus for Algeria.

Inspected for shipment from “interior” locations was 752,000 bus, including 700,000 bus for Mexico, 40,000 bus for Taiwan and 12,000 bus for Malaysia.

Inspected for shipment from the Pacific was 5,524,000 bus, including 2,130,000 bus for Taiwan, 1,213,000 bus for Chile, 1,185,000 bus for South Korea, 815,000 bus for Japan, 77,000 bus for Burma, 40,000 bus for Thailand, 23,000 bus for Malaysia, 22,000 bus for China, 10,000 bus for Hong Kong and 9,000 bus for Vietnam.

Wheat inspected for shipment from the Gulf totaled 6,240,000 bus, including 1,947,000 bus for Nigeria, 1,095,000 bus for Mexico, 806,000 bus for Venezuela, 715,000 bus for Egypt, 643,000 bus for Dominican Republic, 404,000 bus for Colombia, 263,000 bus for Mozambique, 259,000 bus for Guatemala, 107,000 bus for Honduras and 1,000 bus for Guyana.

Soybean inspections for the week totaled 59,442,000 bus, down 7% from a week earlier. Marketing year-to-date (beginning Sept. 1, 2012) soybean inspections were 369,619,000 bus, up 42% from the same period in 2011-12.

Corn inspected during the week ended Nov. 1 totaled 14,685,000 bus, down 6% from a week earlier.

Marketing year-to-date (beginning Sept. 1, 2012) inspections totaled 158,000,000 bus, down 37% from a year earlier.

Total grains and oilseeds inspected during the week were 88,779,000 bus, down 2% from a year earlier. Marketing year-to-date inspections for all grains totaled 970,004,000 bus, down 4% from the same period last year.
