PARK RIDGE, ILL. — The American Egg Board and egg farmers across the nation are partnering for the "Good Egg Project," which is an initiative program to help educate Americans on modern egg farming, introduce them to the farmers who care for hens and eggs, and encourage consumers to eat well.

The program aims to help fight hunger and encourage consumers to "Eat Good. Do Good Everyday." The program seeks pledges on its web site, GoodEggProject.org, and for every pledge given on the site, egg framers will donate one egg to Feeding America, a hunger relief charity, for up to one million eggs.

Egg farmers also will sponsor Sesame Street through the project to help share with children how an egg goes from farm to table and to encourage children to be "good eggs" in their community.
