CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Puratos has opened the Puratos Center for Bread Flavor in St. Vith, Belgium. Visitors may explore the influence of Sapore sourdoughs from Puratos on the taste of bread and its texture. Puratos also shares knowledge gained from sensory analysis on bread flavor and regional preferences.

Puratos created a natural sourdough range called Sapore in 1995 that was based on microorganisms discovered in different parts of the world. Puratos scientists were able to isolate the strains and include them in dough and produce sourdough. Puratos has gone on to discover different strains in other parts of the world.

Puratos is a privately owned Belgian group that has a U.S. office in Cherry Hill.
