Soren Schroder to lead Bunge North America

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Soren Schroder has been promoted to chief executive officer of Bunge North America, heading the business operations of Bunge Ltd. in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Mr. Schroder will succeed Carl Hausmann, who will assume the newly created position of managing director, global government and corporate affairs, at the parent company, Bunge Ltd. Both changes will become effective Jan. 1.
Mr. Schroder currently is vice-president, agribusiness, for Bunge Europe.
"Soren has played an instrumental role in building Bunge’s agribusiness operations in Europe and globally," said Alberto Weisser, chairman and c.e.o. of Bunge Ltd. "His global perspective and proven leadership skills will enable him to make valuable contributions to Bunge in his new role and grow and grow one of our largest and most important businesses."
Mr. Schroder has been with Bunge since 2000 and has held agribusiness leadership roles in the United States and Europe. Earlier, he spent more than 15 years at Continental Grain Co. and Cargill.
Mr. Hausmann, in his new role, will coordinate Bunge’s government affairs, corporate sustainability and communicate relations at a global level.

"He brings a strong track record of results at Bunge and over 30 years of experience in agribusiness and food to this essential role."
Before being named c.e.o. of Bunge North America in 2004, Mr. Hausmann was c.e.o. of Bunge Europe and c.e.o. of Cereol S.A. until its acquisition by Bunge in 2002. He began his career at Continental Grain, serving in leadership roles in North America, South America, Africa and Europe.
In their new roles, both Mr. Hausmann and Mr. Schroder will report to Mr. Weisser.
