THOMASVILLE, GA. — David M. Roach and G. Randy Brock have been promoted to new positions at Flowers Bakeries, effective Jan. 3, 2010.

Mr. Roach has been named senior vice-president with responsibility for sales and operations for a newly created region within the company that includes five Flowers bakeries in Georgia and Alabama. He most recently was president of Flowers’ Villa Rica, Ga., bakery.

Mr. Roach joined Flowers in 1992 as a route salesperson and has been a director of sales, regional sales director, vice-president of sales, and president at various Flowers subsidiaries. In 2003, he was named corporate vice-president of sales and national accounts, and in 2007 he became president of the Villa Rica bakery.

"We continue to realign our sales regions as our company expands the geographic footprint of its direct-store-delivery territory, and the creation of this new region fits our growth strategy," said Bradley K. Alexander, president of Flowers Bakeries. "During the course of his 17-year career with Flowers, David has done an outstanding job in every position he’s held, and I know he will do the same when he takes on this newest role in January."

Succeeding Mr. Roach as president of the Villa Rica bakery will be Mr. Brock. A 27-year-veteran of Flowers, Mr. Brock most recently was executive vice-president in Villa Rica since 2007. Earlier in his career he held sales management positions at several Flowers subsidiaries, including district manager, sales manager, director of sales and vice-president.
