ARLINGTON, VA. — The Food Marketing Institute, which postponed its Future Connect and Marketechnics technology event that was scheduled for May 4-6 in Dallas due to the H1N1 influenza outbreak, has rescheduled the events.

Future Connect, which features three educational tracks — operations, executive and senior executive -- has been rescheduled for Oct. 12-14 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dallas. All attendee registrations from the previously scheduled May dates for the event have been automatically transferred to the October event.

Marketechnics, an event that showcases emerging opportunities and products, has been rescheduled so as to be included as part of the F.M.I. 2010 event in Las Vegas, set for May 10-13, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Attendees of the postponed 2009 event will receive a credit for attendance at F.M.I. 2010 or any other F.M.I. event valid through May 31, 2010.

"F.M.I. appreciates the support and positive reinforcement we have received from the industry as we addressed the myriad issues resulting from the postponement of two events due to the influenza outbreak," said Leslie G. Sarasin, president and chief executive officer of the F.M.I. "We are thrilled to announce new plans to provide the industry with the essential education and insight provided by these events."
