NEW YORK — NexCen Brands, Inc. has opened its first Great American Cookies franchise store in Bosco Vallarta Zapopan, Jalisco, in Mexico. The store is the first to open under a master franchise agreement signed in October 2008 that calls for a minimum of 30 Great American Cookies stores and 15 Pretzelmaker stores to be opened in Mexico during the next 15 years.

"Our ability to consistently secure new franchise agreements and open stores around the world demonstrates the transportability and popularity of our franchised brands," said Kenneth J. Hall, chief executive officer of NexCen Brands. "The new Great American Cookies store in Jalisco marks the first of many upcoming openings in this market and we are excited about the future opportunities in Mexico."
