OVERLAND PARK, KAS. — Mark Ungashick, executive vice-president at Shick USA, has been elected chairman of BEMA for 2009-10. Mr. Ungashick was elected during BEMA’s annual meeting June 18-23 at the Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
Mr. Ungashick has been an active member of BEMA since 1997 and has been a board member for six years. While on the board he was chairman of the group’s trade relations and convention and programs committees and as a member of the executive committee.
Looking toward the year ahead, Mr. Ungashick identified a number of priorities, including finding ways to encourage members to work together to address issues such as sanitation, the economic climate, industry standards and workforce issues. Reviving BISSC/ANSI will be a priority to avoid "costly, legislated inspections," BEMA said.
Also joining the BEMA executive committee, as third vice-chairman, was Ed Fay, president of CMC America. Joining the BEMA board of directors was Paul Lattan, publisher of Baking & Snack magazine; and David Groff, regional sales manager, international, Bedford Industries, Inc. Terry Bartsch, director of sales and marketing at RTB-A Bundy Co. was elected to a second term on the BEMA board.
