PARIS, TEXAS — Sara Lee Corp. plans to cut approximately 260 jobs at its Paris bakery in a move designed to improve efficiencies.

Sara Lee said the move is in line with the company’s shift in focusing its food service portfolio on frozen pizza dough, granola bars, shred and crouton stuffing, and croissants.

“Over the next few months, we will simplify operations in our Paris, Texas, facility so that it is focused on two value streams: croissants as well as frozen pizza dough,” said Mike Cummins, a spokesperson for Sara Lee. “The remaining products currently manufactured in Paris will either be transitioned to other facilities or discontinued.”

Sara Lee has operated the Paris plant since 2001.
