SALINA, KAS. — Research Products Co. has made a commitment of $12,500 to the Department of Grain Science and Industry in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University to establish the Research Products Company Scholarship.

The fund will be established over a five-year period, and $2,500 will be awarded annually in the form of scholarships for juniors or seniors enrolled in the Department of Grain Science and Industry, majoring in milling science and management.

“Kansas State University provides the milling industry with valuable resources, research and most importantly, people who are highly skilled and well equipped,” said Monte White, president of Research Products. “We believe it is important to support our industry, and we are delighted to help by funding the Research Products Company Scholarship.”

Dirk Maier, head of the Department of Grain Science and Industry, said scholarship support is a “critical factor” in continuing to draw the best students to the university’s milling science program.

“Long-term commitments for student support from companies like Research Products strengthen our programs and represent a critical investment in the education and preparation of the next generation of milling industry professionals,” Mr. Maier said.

Founded in 1946, Research Products provides the milling and baking industries with flour oxidation and maturing services, vitamin and mineral premixes, enzymes, and ingredient dispensing systems that help manufacturers deliver food products to consumers.
