ST. ALBANS, HERTFORDSHIRE, U.K. — Ronald Bell, a past president of Kraft Foods Europe, has been named non-executive chairman of Premier Foods P.L.C., effective Oct. 1. He will succeed David Kappler, who will step down as chairman and non-executive director.

Mr. Bell spent a 30-year career with Kraft, during which time he held a number of senior management appointments until retiring from the company in 2003.

He currently is non-executive chairman of Milk Link, a U.K.-based integrated dairy business; a non-executive director of Ansell Ltd., an international health care group which is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange; and a non-executive director of The Edrington Group, a private group in the Scotch whisky industry. He also has been a non-executive director of Northern Foods P.L.C. since 2005, but he stepped down from that role because of his appointment as chairman of Premier Foods.
