THOMASVILLE, GA. — Flowers Foods, Inc. has added three new whole grain items to the bread aisle: Nature’s Own 100% Whole Grain Sandwich Rounds, Nature’s Own Made with Whole Grain White Bread and Nature’s Own 9-Grain Bread with 35 calories.
The introduction of 100% Whole Grain Sandwich Rounds joins the launch earlier this year of 100% Whole Wheat and Healthy Multi Grain Sandwich Rounds. The new variety has 20 grams of whole grain per round and 100 calories.
Nature’s Own Made with Whole Grain White Bread has the taste and texture of white bread along with 10 grams of whole grains per two-slice serving.
“This whole grain white bread is the second healthy white bread offered by Nature’s Own,” Flowers said. “The first is Whitewheat, the original healthy family white bread, which Nature’s Own introduced in 1991.”
Finally, Nature’s Own has developed a new 9-grain bread with 35 calories per slice. The new bread is part of a larger reintroduction of Nature’s Own reduced-calorie bread, all of which have been reformulated to include 5 fewer calories per slice. Other varieties include Light Wheat, Light Honey Wheat and Light Premium White.
All of the new bread items are available at a suggested retail price of $2.49 to $2.99.
