ROBESONIA, PA — With Phase 1 completed, Reading Bakery Systems began Phase 2 of its plan to expand and renovate its corporate headquarters. Phase 1 created more manufacturing space as well as engineering, project management and IT offices, lunchroom and a conference area. Phase 2 will expand and renovate the company's existing space and includes new human resources and accounting offices, conference rooms, lunchrooms and its machine shop area. The company expects to finish Phase 2 in spring 2012.

"Phase 1 has allowed us to keep pace with the expansion of our business by adding to our technical team with engineers and project managers," said E. Terry Groff, chairman of Reading. "Phase 2 focuses more on our enhancing our customer and employee experience while making us more efficient in our manufacturing area."

This marks Reading’s fourth expansion at its headquarters. Reading added 30 staff members to its team this year as it expanded its production capabilites. The expansion plans were announced in 2010, and the company broke ground in December 2010. Reading has also had recent expansions in its oven manufacturing area and at its Indianapolis, IN, manufacturing site.
