NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Niacet Corp. announced it is increasing production capacity for Niacet Niaproof Crystal Pro calcium propionate by 5,000 tonnes. The capacity expansion is expected to be on line in the third quarter of 2011 at the company’s Niagara Falls site.

“Since the introduction of Niaproof Crystal Pro in 2004, the market has overwhelmingly embraced the low dust, free flowing characteristics of this product, which has necessitated the expansion,” Niacet said.

The expansion follows last year’s construction of a 9,000-tonne sodium and calcium stearoyl lactylate manufacturing plant, also at Niagara Falls.

“These investments continue to confirm Niacet’s commitment to the global baking industry,” Niacet said.
