MILFORD, CONN. – Subway said it has reduced the sodium content by 28% in its Subway Fresh Fit sandwich choices and removed 15% of the sodium in its core sandwiches.

Subway supports the National Salt Reduction Initiative, a public-private partnership that has developed targets to guide company salt reductions in 62 categories of packaged food and 25 categories of restaurant food. The Subway brand has met the 2012 sodium benchmarks and plans to the meet the 2014 benchmarks.
