MODESTO, CALIF. — Dawn Food Products, Inc. said it will close its Modesto facility in March, eliminating more than 250 jobs. The facility has been making frozen cakes, cake mixes and other dry-mix bakery products since 1996.
In announcing the move, Dawn said it is “moving forward with plans to continue enhancing manufacturing operations and increasing efficiency.” Additionally, Dawn said the action supports its ability to align resources to best meet its customers’ demands, as well as optimize and reduce shipping costs and eliminate redundant costs.
“These efforts involve expanding some operations at other manufacturing locations within Dawn,” the company said.
