Gavilon acquires grain marketing company in Brazil

OMAHA, NEB. — Gavilon, L.L.C. on Jan. 20 said it has acquired AgriService, an integrated service provider to the grain sector based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Gavilon said Agriservice, which will operate as a wholly owned, independent subsidiary, acts as a broker and consultant to clients, markets corn and soy products globally and provides internal logistics, commodity brokerage and vessel chartering.
The announcement comes on the heels of news Gavilon was exploring a range of strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the business.
