Pepperidge Farm names new president

CAMDEN, N.J. — Irene Chang Britt has been named president of the Pepperidge Farm business unit of the Campbell Soup Co., effective July 31, the end of the company’s fiscal year. Ms. Britt will replace Pat Callaghan, who is retiring.
Ms. Britt became senior vice-president and chief strategy officer for the company in October 2010 and is responsible for Campbell’s global strategy. Prior to that, she was President-North America Foodservice.
She will be based at the Pepperidge Farm headquarters in Norwalk, Conn., and report to Denise Morrison, president and chief executive officer of the company.
“Throughout her career, Irene has consistently grown businesses through a focus on brand building and innovation,” Ms. Morrison said. “She has played a crucial role in defining Campbell's new growth strategies and has been a valued partner to me as we charted a new course for our company. Irene’s relentless focus on the consumer, track record of successful innovation and delivery of business results make her an ideal candidate to succeed Pat.”
Mr. Callaghan will step down on July 31 and become a special adviser to Ms. Morrison until Nov. 1, when he will formally retire from the company.

Pat has served our company with distinction for more than 30 years. In addition to his many business accomplishments, Pat has been a coach and mentor to countless people in our organization. We wish him and his family well in his retirement.”
Mr. Callaghan joined Pepperidge Farm in 1979. He became president of the business unit in 2006, and is credited with leading Pepperidge Farm to focus on the development of innovative new products such as Milano Melts, Milano Slices, Baked Naturals Snack Crackers, Cracker Chips and Deli Flats.
