SALINA, KAS. — Lloyd LeRoy “Mac” McAninch, who served as president of Research Products Co. for more than 50 years, died April 9, at the age of 94.

He was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Manhattan, Kas., to Lloyd and Ruth (Koger) McAninch. Mr. McAninch received a bachelor’s of science degree in cereal chemistry from Kansas State University.

He became president of Research Products Co. in Salina in 1947 and served in that position until his retirement in 2004. His family still runs the company, which supplies services and products, including vitamin and mineral premixes, to the milling and baking industries.

Mr. McAninch was active in the Salina community. He was president and director of the First National Bank, director of Charities Foundation, Inc., president and director of Asbury Hospital, chairman of the United Fund, director of the Chamber of Commerce, president of the Salina Country Club and trustee and ruling elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a trustee of the Kansas State University Foundation.

Mr. McAninch was preceded in death by his mother and Vera Mowery, his wife of 56 years. He is survived by his wife, Janis, of 12 years; three daughters, Kay Scott (Gary) of Wamego, Kas., Janet White (Charles) of Wamego, and Pat Edison (Bill) of Wichita, Kas.; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
