Gonnella Baking opens expanded facility

SCHAUMBURG, ILL. — Gonnella Baking Co. has opened its expanded frozen foods facility in Schaumburg. The $6 million project included a 30,000-square-foot addition.

The new space includes freezer and dry storage space, which Gonnella said will reduce costs of leasing freezer space elsewhere. Additionally, the expansion increases the company’s overall freezer capacity to 4.5 million lbs from 3 million lbs, and it will allow sales of both bread and frozen dough.
