SAN DIEGO — S&S Bakery, a provider of traditional baked foods to schools, said it is supporting the Let’s Move! initiative by baking healthier bread and snacks.

The company has increased its whole grain products from 30% whole grain to a minimum of 51%, and continues to meet the requirements for lower fat, sugar and total calories. In doing so, S&S said it has had to change several operational and baking processes.

For more than 17 years, S&S Bakery has provided San Diego’s residents, as well as customers in other geographic locations, with fresh bakery goods. First Lady Michelle Obama launched Let’s Move!, an initiative designed to solve the problem of obesity within one generation.
