SAINT-AUGUSTIN-DE-DESMAURES, QUE. – Groupe Biscuits Leclerc Inc. has acquired the Ancient Grain Bar general concept from Go Pure Foods, Fresno, Calif., and the equipment required to manufacture the bars. The equipment will be installed in two Biscuit Leclerc facilities. One facility in Kingsport, Tenn., will be for the fruit-based bar segment, and one of the Saint-Augustin-De-Desmaures plants will be for ancient grain bars.

“This acquisition fits our business vision and national brand future development strategy,” said Dennis Leclerc, president of Groupe Biscuits Leclerc. “It’s a concept that opens our lineup to new products based on natural ingredients such as fruits, vegetables and grains.”

Groupe Biscuits Leclerc specializes in cookies and snack bars and exports to more than 20 countries.
