Emerson buys belt maker

Emerson, St. Louis, has acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of System Plast S.p.A., Telgate, Italy, a producer of engineered modular belts and custom conveyor components used in the baking, bottled, food processing and packaging industries. System Plast projects 2008 revenue to be €77 million ($99.4 million). The transaction will allow Emerson to improve its ability to service food and beverage customers around the world, according to Emerson.
