CAESAREA, ISRAEL — Hefestus has launched Hefestus Gourmet, a packaging solution that enables dessert makers to pack a variety of delicate desserts and extend shelf life while maintaining texture, appearance and mouthfeel. Shelf life thus may be extended without using any additives or preservatives.
Other packaging technologies may damage the texture of dairy and mousse desserts, according to Hefestus. Problems with standard packing machines may lead companies to resort to manual labor, which may create food safety and shelf life risks by increasing product exposure to open air.
"This is a breakthrough technology that will make a complete revolution in the gourmet desserts market," said Oded Shtemer, president and chief executive officer of Caesarea-based Hefestus. "Not only will it extend product shelf life, it also will increase the volume capabilities for this category, while saving time and costs."
