Omega-3 flavor modifier joins Mag-nifique line

ST. FRANCIS, WIS. — Wixon, Inc. has expanded its Mag-nifique line to include Mag-nifique for Omega-3, a flavor modifier that prevents and eliminates the fishy taste associated with omega-3 fatty acids, according to the company. The all-natural ingredient may be used in such applications as beverages, desserts and baked foods.
"Omega-3 fatty acids are extremely important to have in your diet, and omega-3-fortified products are a convenient way to obtain the levels of nutrients that health experts recommend," said Mindy Edwards, a flavor chemist for Wixon. "However, omega-3 can have an unpleasant taste, making it less appealing to health-conscious consumers. Mag-nifique for Omega-3 will mask that fishy taste, allowing consumers to treat their bodies right without compromising on flavor."
