ST. LOUIS — ICL Performance Products LP has launched the Mianjia family of Asian noodle specialty products to meet the needs of manufacturers who produce a variety of noodles, including instant noodles, Korean-style instant noodles, alkaline noodles such as Yakisoba and Chao-mien, and Udon noodles, said Jenny Zhou, a food scientist for St. Louis-based ICL Performance Products.

Mianjia products may replace up to 30% of modified starch in some noodle formulations to improve texture and reduce overall cost, she said. Food phosphate specialists will be available to discuss the Mianjia products at the company’s booth No. 4617 during the Institute of Food Technologists’ annual meeting and food exposition June 12-14 in New Orleans.
