WASHINGTON — Frozen stocks of eggs, cheese and chicken on June 30 were greater than year-earlier levels while butter and red meat stocks were lower, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Cold Storage report.

Total natural cheese stocks on June 30 were 1,026,602,000 lbs, up 1% from May and up 4% from June 2009, the U.S.D.A. said. Butter stocks were 197,892,000 lbs, down 7% from May and down 25% from the previous year.

Total frozen egg stocks at the end of June were 25,097,000 lbs, up 12% from May and up 16% form June 2009. Stocks of egg whites were 2,926,000 lbs, up 27% from May but down 1% from the previous year. Frozen egg yolk stocks were 562,000 lbs, down 6% from May and down 50% from June 2009. Whole and mixed egg stocks came in at 6,005,000 lbs, down 14% from May and down 30% from June 2009. Unclassified egg stocks totaled 15,604,000 lbs, up 24% from May and up 73% from the previous year.

Total chicken stocks were 669,041,000 lbs, down 3% from May but up 2% from June 2009. Turkey stocks totaled 504,025,000 lbs, up 9% from May but down 15% from June 2009. Total frozen poultry supplies were 1,177,209,000 lbs, up 2% from May but down 6% from June 2009, the U.S.D.A. said.

Total red meat supplies were 814,026,000 lbs on June 30, down 3% from May and down 22% from June 2009. Total frozen beef stocks were 375,308,000 lbs, up 3% from May but down 14% from the previous year. Frozen pork stocks totaled 410,051,000 lbs, down 8% from May and down 29% from June 2009. Frozen pork belly stocks were 35,420,000 lbs, down 20% from May and down 54% from June 2009.

Frozen vegetable stocks totaled 1,668,584,000 lbs, up 3% from May and up 7% from June 2009. Stocks of frozen French fries were 915,351,000 lbs, up 7% from the previous month but down 9% from the previous year.
Stocks of all types of frozen fruit totaled 918,157,000 lbs, up 2% from the previous month but down 6% from the previous year.

Stocks of frozen orange juice concentrate were 1,353,030,000 lbs, down 6% from the previous month and down 11% from the previous year.

Fresh apples in regular and controlled storage on June 30 were 826,095,000 lbs, down 40% from May and down 4% from the previous year.
