July liquid egg products down 2% from year ago

WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken in July was 226,178,000 lbs, down 5% from June and down 2% from July 2010, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.
July production of edible liquid whole eggs was 135,872,000 lbs, down 3% from June and down 7% from July 2010; liquid whites were 60,100,000 lbs, down 9% from June but up 4% from July 2010; liquid yolks were 30,206,000 lbs, down 9% from June but up 10% from July 2010; and inedible production was 19,568,000 lbs, down 1% from June but up 2% from July 2010.
Shell eggs broken in July were 179,653,000 dozen, down 3% from June but up slightly from the previous year.
January – July production of edible whole eggs was 946,650,000 lbs, down 2% from the same period of the previous year; whites were 411,232,000 lbs, up 7%; yolks were 210,136,000 lbs, up 11%; inedible product was 134,266,000 lbs, up slightly, and total edible liquid was 1,568,018,000 lbs, up 2%.
