Ammonium Phosphate (NH4)

Ammonium Phosphate ((NH4)3PO4). A salt formed by the neutralization of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) with ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH). It is used extensively in fertilizer formulations and finds some limited applications in yeast foods (q.v.) as a ready source of phosphorus and nitrogen (q.v.), two nutrients essential for optimum yeast activity.
