Bread. A basic food product made of flour or meal (q.v.), normally milled from wheat (q.v.) or rye (q.v.), but also from other cereals (q.v.), that is mixed with water (q.v.), salt, and other optional ingredients into a dough (q.v.) or batter (q.v.), fermented by yeast (q.v.) or leavened (q.v.) by other means, divided and formed into individual units of various weights and shapes, and baked.
