Brick Oven

Brick Oven. An early form of baking oven (q.v.) consisting of a massive brick structure in which the fire box or furnace was separate from the baking chamber (q.v.) and in which hot gasses were conveyed through a series of flues (q.v.) located both above and beneath the hearth (q.v.) to supply the necessary heat to the baking chamber.
