Condensation. The process of rendering a substance more compact or dense by a change in its state, as vapor into liquid, or to concentrate a liquid by evaporation to a denser and thicker consistency (q.v.). Also, the film or droplets of moisture (q.v.) deposited on cold surfaces when the ambient temperature (q.v.) drops below the dewpoint (q.v) of the atmosphere, or the relative humidity (q.v.) reaches the saturation point (q.v.).
