Condenser. That section of a mechanical refrigeration (q.v.) system into which the superheated, highly compressed refrigerant (q.v.) vapor is introduced by the compressor (q.v.) for condensation (q.v.) which is aided by forced heat removal either by air cooling or by circulating cooling water around the condenser coils. The liquefied refrigerant is then ready to repeat the cooling cycle by entering the evaporator (q.v.) or cooling section of the refrigeration unit.
