Corn

Corn (Maize). Also called Indian corn, it is the small, hard grain, seed or kernel of a tall cereal grass, Zea mays, cultivated in many varieties. It serves as a source of such food products as oils (q.v.), syrups (q.v.), glucose (q.v.), fructose (q.v), starch (q.v.), flour (q.v.), meal (q.v.) and masa (q.v.).
