"Family Flour. A white flour, also referred to as ""all purpose flour,"" intended to serve general household baking needs to produce all types of home-made baked foods. It is normally milled from low-protein hard red winter wheat (q.v.) or from a blend of hard and soft winter wheats (q.v.) and possesses characteristics that make it suitable for a broad range of baked foods with noncritical production requirements. It is less suited for the commercial production of specific bakery products."
