Hamburger Bun. A flat, round, soft-crusted bun (q.v.) about 4 inches in diameter and about 1.5 inches thick, made of a somewhat richer yeast-leavened dough (q.v.) than is used for regular white pan bread (q.v.). The bun is normally consumed as a sandwich that contains a fried ground beef patty with various condiments (q.v.) between the two halves of the sliced bun.
