Isoamylase

Isoamylase. Any of a group of amylolytic enzymes (q.v.) that are capable of splitting the ?-1-6 linkage that forms the branching point in amylopectin (q.v.) and that is not acted on by ?-amylase (q.v.) or ?-amylase (q.v.). Isoamylases include amylo-1,6-glucosidase and limit-dextrinase.
