Milling

Milling. The process of reducing grain of various types, as wheat (q.v.), rye (q.v.), corn (q.v.), etc., by a grinding action into finely granular products, as meals (q.v.) and flour (q.v.), generally subjecting them to various degrees of purification by such methods as sifting (q.v.), sieving (q.v.), bolting (q.v.), and others.
