Oil Seed

Oil Seed. Any plant seed (q.v.) whose oil (q.v.) content is sufficiently high or whose oil possesses special attributes that make it commercially desirable to press or extract it. Examples include cottonseed (q.v.), sunflower seed (q.v.), soybean (q.v.), olive (q.v.), rapeseed (q.v.), peanut (q.v.), and others.
