Polysaccharide

Polysaccharide. A term that encompasses complex carbohydrates (q.v.) made up of large numbers of such monosaccharides (q.v.), as dextrose (q.v.), fructose (q.v.) and galactose (q.v.). They comprise such categories as starch (q.v.), glycogen (q.v.), dextrins (q.v.), cellulose (q.v.), and others.
