Quick Bread. Any of a wide variety of bread (q.v.) products, including biscuits (q.v.), muffins (q.v.), and loaf breads with various distinctive ingredients, as nuts (q.v.), fruits, bran (q.v.), whole grain (q.v.), and the like, and whose only common feature is the use of chemical leavening (q.v.) that permits immediate baking of the dough (q.v.) or batter (q.v.) following mixing (q.v.).
