Sandwich

Sandwich. Two or more slices (q.v.) of bread (q.v.) or two halves of a roll (q.v.) or bun (q.v.), with a layer of meat, cheese, fish, etc., between them, often with lettuce leafs, tomato slices, or cream dressing added as a garnish. Named after the Fourth Earl of Sandwich, the product's originator.
