A foam-type cake (q.v.) with a light, open texture (q.v.) that is produced from a well-aerated batter (q.v.) with a specific gravity (q.v.) within the range of 0.46-0.48 and that combines appropriate amounts of whole eggs (q.v.) whipped into a stable foam (q.v.), and of sugar (q.v.), flour (q.v.), and liquids.
