Spun Sugar. A confection (q.v.) that resembles a fluff and is used for decorating cakes (q.v.) or in making cotton candy. It is produced from a sugar solution (q.v.) that has been boiled to the hard crack degree (q.v.) at a temperature of 280-310¦F (128-154¦C) and is then spun into fine threads by various methods.
