Wet Milling. A method of producing corn starch (q.v.) by steeping (q.v.) the corn kernels (q.v.) to facilitate husk (q.v.) and germ (q.v.) removal and then grinding them into a slurry (q.v.). This slurry is then sieved to separate the starch and the resultant starch suspension is centrifuged and dried at temperatures that do not result in starch gelatinization (q.v.).
