Dark caramel color allows simpler labeling

D.D. Williamson has developed an acid-proof Class One caramel color, the darkest caramel color in its line. The new minimally processed Caramel Color 520 offers stability below pH 2.5 and in alcohol up to 65% ABV. For customers exporting to the EU, it can be labeled as “color plain caramel” or “burnt sugar.” The company offers a wide array of natural color additives.
