ConAgra Mills launches specialty durum flour for flatbreads

Mumbai Gold Fresh Chakki Atta flour from ConAgra Mills is milled from specially selected durum wheat to traditional specifications for taste, texture and functionality in authentic flatbreads, including Indian breads. The company reports that Indian cuisine is the fastest-growing segment of the ethnic food market, rising nearly 35% from 2006 to 2008 to reach a $40 million share in 2009. Applications cover the full range of flatbreads: chapatti, roti, paratha, puri, pizza crust and wraps. The flour is milled in the US and packed in bags and totes; bulk delivery is also available. The flour is offered at 13% protein minimum.
