Nature’s Own, a brand of Flowers Foods, Thomasville, GA, introduces its first gluten-free sandwich bread. The product is intended to serve the 1 out of every 133 Americans who follow a strict gluten-free diet because of celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. The pre-sliced gluten-free bread does not require refrigeration. Loaves are produced in a dedicated facility that is free of wheat and gluten. Available in Extra Fiber White and Healthy Multi-Grain varieties, the bread is 100% natural and contains no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, high-fructose corn syrup, cholesterol or trans fat. Each slice contains 5 g of whole grain and 3 g of fiber. The 20-oz package retails for $5.99.
